According to the National Association of Realtors, people are feeling more confident in the housing market than they’ve felt in quite some time. A whopping 69% of Americans believe now is a good time to buy a home, and are wasting no time in doing so!
Senior vice president and chief economist at Fannie Mae, Doug Duncan, says their April survey results “suggest that consumer confidence is moving in a positive direction.” He continues on to note that “these results are in line with expectations for increased housing activity and gradual strengthening of the housing market going into the spring and summer selling season.”
In the DC Metro Area, which includes Woodbridge, Virginia, home to our townhomes at Marina Landing, improvements in the housing market are evident. According to Freddie Mac’s Multi-Indicator Market Index for February, Washington D.C. ranks in the top five areas that are considered in their stable range of housing activity.
And in the Delaware region, including Millsboro, home to our townhomes at Wharton’s Bluff, the housing market achievements have been nothing short of incredible. Housing production in the state is up 20% since 2012, with housing starts expected to rise nearly 7% this year alone. No wonder so many are feeling more confident in the market – it’s hard not to be, especially with gains and improvements like these month after month!
