As President and Chief Executive Officer at The Christopher Companies, John Regan is responsible for the global operations of the company and ensuring an exceptional experience for our customers, business partners, and employees. He brings to the company more than 35 years of experience in the homebuilding industry. He is a leader in business planning, financial management, and land acquisition with a dedication to working with government agencies and neighborhoods to bring quality new communities to the area.
Prior to joining The Christopher Companies in 1996, John had worked with other prominent construction companies where he held a variety of management positions including Vice President -Comptroller. Preceding his role as President, John acted as the Executive Vice President , CFO and Principal of The Christopher Companies.
Having been born and raised in Virginia and the Delmarva area, John is familiar with the unique characteristics and building environments that define the regions where The Christopher Companies concentrate their business.
John is a 1983 graduate of George Mason University and a Certified Public Accountant. He is involved in several professional and community organizations to include The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the NVBIA (where he served as the Chairman of the Finance Committee), The Lorton WorkHouse Arts Foundation (where he serves on the Executive and Finance committees of the Board of Directors and is the Chairman of the Development Committee), and The Virginia State Society (where he and his family are the benefactor of an annual scholarship). John is also a board member of a local Real Estate Investment Trust. He has, in years prior, served as the President of the Winterset-Varsity Park Civic Association as well as a board member of the Woodson High School Boosters and Woodson High School Capital Campaign.
Outside of work, John enjoys an active lifestyle, traveling, and spending time at his historic homeplace in Central Virginia and along the beaches of Delmarva with his wife and children.
Randy has been with The Christopher Companies since 2006, serving as Vice President of Construction. As Vice President, Randy is responsible for Site Development and the Budgeting, Contracting and Construction for all single family, townhouse, condominium, apartment and office projects. From 2001 until 2006, Randy was employed by Van Metre Companies as Vice President of Multi Family. He was responsible for the design, development and construction of new apartment and condominium projects. He evaluated the acquisition of existing apartment projects. The Multi-Family Division was also responsible for all Special Projects, light commercial, commercial and residential renovations. Prior to Van Metre Companies Randy worked for Global Construction Company LLC as a Senior Project Manager. The company was a general contractor specializing in multi-family, senior and campus housing construction. Randy managed the Northeast Regional office and conducted all required business with owners, architects, financial institutions and all project-related professional consultants and regulatory agencies. Randy has been responsible for the development and construction of over 3,000 apartment units, over 1,000 condominium units and numerous commercial projects in his career.
Mr. Kettner joined the Christopher Companies in 2003, beginning his journey as an intern during his senior year at George Mason University. Mr. Kettner is a 2004 graduate of George Mason University with a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management, Information Technology Minor and holds a Leadership Certificate.
After graduating in 2004, he started with Christopher Companies in the field as an Assistant Construction Manager and later became a Construction Manager. In 2006, Mr. Kettner took on the Assistant Project Manager role and worked his way through the ranks to become the Director of Residential Construction in 2020.
In the past, Mr. Kettner was responsible for organizing and managing: the engineering, architectural design, and approval process; bidding, creating budgets, purchasing, and contracting of projects; as well as managing the development, construction and customer service aspects of project management.
Currently, he is responsible for the general supervision of construction-related projects. He oversees the progress of various projects while simultaneously handling various field and construction-management related tasks. He oversees manpower requirements for the residential projects and ensures all goals, deadlines and the Christopher quality standards are met. Mr. Kettner’s overarching responsibility is to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. This includes reviewing budgets and contracts as well as coordinating the schedules for the projects.
During his career, Mr. Kettner has managed the development and construction of hundreds of single-family homes, townhomes, remodeling projects and condominiums throughout Delaware and Northern Virginia.
As Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Christopher Companies, Mr. Shively is responsible for items relating to and including advertising, marketing, home architectural design and decor, sales management, sales recruiting, sales training and development of the sales team. In the coming years, Benjamin looks to build on a great reputation to further positive growth for The Christopher Companies. Benjamin enjoys kayaking, fishing and hiking. He, his wife and children reside in the Shenandoah Valley.
As Past President of The Christopher Companies, Craig was responsible for land planning, development, product design, construction and customer service. Craig joined The Christopher Companies in 1993 after nine years with the Artery Organization where he served as Vice President- Division Manager. Prior to joining the Artery Organization, Craig managed Park Construction Operations for the Fairfax County Park Authority. Craig is a 1979 graduate of Purdue University with a degree in construction management. During his career, he has managed the development and construction of several thousand condominiums, town homes, garden apartments, and single-family homes in the Washington Metropolitan area. A native of Northern Virginia, Craig is actively involved in professional and community organizations, including the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA), where he is a Past President and was named “Builder of the Year” in 2002, the Home Builder’s Association of Virginia (HBAV), where he currently serves on the Executive Committee, and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) where he served on the Board of Directors. Craig also currently serves as a member of the George Mason University School of Management Dean’s Advisory Council, serves on the City of Fairfax Economic Development Authority, and serves as Legislative Chairman of the Homebuilders Association of Virginia.
