At Christopher Companies, our mission statement isn’t just a collection of words we have put to paper. We are truly committed to building quality homes and community concepts that reflect and enhance our buyer’s needs and lifestyles. At the same time, we are committed to the advancement of the community at large, serving charitable endeavors throughout the greater Washington, DC region.
Our guiding principles: professionalism, integrity, family, design, quality and service are behind every decision we make, every relationship we forge, and every home we build.
Christopher, as one of the leading builders of EnergyStar certified homes in the region, is committed to leading edge and sustainable building technologies in every home we build and in every new site we develop.
We begin with an environmentally sensitive site design, maximizing tree save and respecting the existing topography. Along with attractive “rain gardens” as storm water management features, we complete the site with low impact amenities that you and your family will appreciate including walking trails, gazebos, and attractive newly landscaped outdoor spaces for your active or passive enjoyment.
Our homes are designed and built with respect for the environment as well as your long term cost of ownership. Energy and resource efficiency are built in, enhancing your comfort and minimizing your monthly operating costs. Products and materials are carefully selected to minimize your long term maintenance costs, both inside and outside your home. See your Sales Associate for the specific details for the homes in your community.
Each new home we build is “EnergyStar” certified by a third party inspection agency for your peace of mind. Please visit www.energystar.gov for complete details on EPA’s EnergyStar program. Ask your Sales Associate how this program applies to your new home.
In addition, Christopher has recently adopted “The National Green Building Standard.” Beginning in 2010 with our Millville By The Sea project in Millville, Delaware, all of our future communities will incorporate this standard. NGBS was developed in partnership with the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) and the International Code Council (ICC) and was approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as an American National Standard on January 29, 2009. NGBS is the only ANSI approved green building standard at this time. This program builds upon the energy efficiency features championed by EnergyStar, adding performance criteria for lot design and development, efficiency in the use of materials, enhanced durability and maintenance, water efficiency, and indoor environmental quality.
